Un ballo in maschera [collection] : melodramma in tre atti / musica di Giuseppe Verdi. [between 1859? and 1940]

Arranged in two groups: I. Vocal scores (14). II. Orchestra parts (32). Music for Verdi's "Un ballo in maschera," first performed in Rome in February, 1859. The libretto, by Antonio Somma, is based on Eugène Scribe's "Gustave III." The bulk of the collection is in Italian and includes five different editions of vocal score. There are imprints of Ricordi, Escudier, and Boosey. The Boosey vocal score is an English version by Charles Lamb Kenney. Orchestra parts are manuscript; folders for the strings are labelled New York Academy of Music. There is also a set of five string parts for the "behind the scenes" ensemble, the second violin part of which is published by Ricordi.
